Third graders learned about the culture and traditions of Ancient Egypt through interactive websites such as Brainpop. After creating a mummy with clay and plaster gauze, students created sarcophagi containers for their mummies. Each sarcophagus displayed drawings of a mummiform, hieroglyphs, eyes of Horus, patterns, and other symbols.
